Late Christmas Entry

I wish I wrote a Christmas post, but honestly I didn’t feel good enough to do anything yesterday.

I just got back home from the doctors office and I have a sinus infection, a respiratory infection, and costochondritis!

woo hoo!

Love that for me!

I guess since I’m not supposed to go to work and I have the day to myself, I’ll write an all encompassing Christmas post.

I’m Back Home

So as you may have noticed, I was out of town with my dad’s section of the family for a few days.

I’m home now.

It was nice meeting everyone.

I expected there to be a lot of arguing, because that’s what I’ve seem happen on TV whenever a bunch of related people see each other around Christmas. That didn’t happen, so that was cool.

I don’t have much to say.

Christmas Day

I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before, but every Christmas day my mom and I go to the movie theater and see a movie.

This year we saw Mary Poppins Returns and Vice.

It was probably irresponsible for us to go to the movie theater when I’m sick, but… No turning back now I guess.

Mary Poppins was amazing!

The second animation sequence was so astounding, it makes me sad that I’ll probably never see something so cool again. I think not only did they do the original Mary Poppins justice, this movie (in my opinion) is as good as the original.

And Vice was amazing too!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie where I wasn’t bored for even a single second, but Vice did that.

I don’t think people who aren’t interested in politics would like Vice though.

Also, I got to see the Us trailer for the first time in a theater. That’s so cool!

When we left the theater and I looked on twitter everyone was talking about it and I felt so special having seen it on a big screen the first time.

Weird aside, but have you noticed a few people online talking about how rabbits scare them in response to the Us trailer? That’s so weak. They’re rabbits….

It’s like how people are just mortified by rats… like… why?

Maybe I’m just too in tune with animals to be scared.

I’m just too Pocahontas-y.

Announcement

Well…

There’s gonna be some interesting posts on my blog coming up…

(i’m not pregnant don’t worry)

My mom and I are going to Disney World!

We’ve been planning this for a long time and I’m super excited!!

I’m gonna do everything in my power to take as many pictures as I can and put them all up on my blog quickly!

So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that’s about it…

I may write on here again today, who knows.

I’ll see you all later though.

Not At Home

Hi again!

I’m not at my house for once.

It’s probably been like 5 months since I spent the night somewhere other than my house.

I’m spending pre-christmas festivities with my dad’s area of the family.

I don’t know exactly what to talk about and I haven’t take any pictures yet…

But there are horses here!

So hopefully I’ll get some horse pictures for you all.

I’m gonna be reclusive for a while today and try to finish my college orientation and other posts.

I just got onto the wifi so I’m just trying to actually put some work into my blog.

The grind never stops.

I hate the word grind.

The italics imply a tone of disgust.

Um…

I’ll probably be back on my blog later today so I’ll see you then.

Contacts, Schedules, Whatever

ooh late post

I don’t have a ton to say right now because I’m tired and I really want to go to sleep but I know I should post just for the habit of it.

I’m up for a busy few days soon.

On Saturday I’m taking my required drivers ed course, on Sunday I’m probably gonna be working over 8 hours, and on Monday I have my orientation.

I don’t like having obligations every day that aren’t a part of a daily routine.

I think I would definitely prefer if my work schedule was consistent rather than different times each day, you know?

Maybe it’s actually that I just hate doing things I don’t want to do.

I can imagine that if I was a celebrity I would enjoy stuff like award shows that aren’t routine. I probably just hate boring stuff.

I hope that I get to do cool stuff often in the future.

hmm…

I really don’t have much on my mind.

I think I want to start wearing contacts more.

I don’t have many contacts right now so I wear them super sparingly, but I think when I get my next prescription I’ll order a lot of contacts.

Weird question:

Are circle lenses super out of vogue nowadays?

I remember when everyone that was cool wore circle lenses, but I haven’t seen many people wearing them for the past like 2 years. There’s a pair of really cool lenses that have pink and black tulips on the edges that make your eyes look frilly that I really really want to buy.

It’s not that I want to fit in badly, but I keep talking myself out of buying them.

I also want to buy a pair of sclera lenses.

I think that would be cool. I’ve always wanted to look like I’m possessed.

It’s hard to talk yourself into spending money on cosmetic lenses.

Wow, how vapid.

I think I’m too tired to be blogging right now.

Have a nice night!

Rediscovery: GMM

Hi again.

I’m trying to get an entry out there before my dinner is done in the oven.

I think I’m getting sick right now.

I’ve had a bad headache since I woke up, I coughed so hard I almost vomited earlier, and my nose has been running like a broken faucet my whole work day.

ugh.

I don’ really have much to talk about, but I’ve rediscovered something I used to love…

I’ve started watching good mythical morning again.

I haven’t reaslly watched GMM in a long time, but I’ve listened to Rhett and Link’s podcast religiously since like 2013.

I quite like GMM still.

I used to watch an episode every night before I went to bed for like 3 years.

um… so…

That’s about all that’s new in my life.

Closing the Store

It feels like every time I write an entry, I’m just pulling stuff out of my *ss.

That’s what I’m doing today too.

So…

I just reached the 1/3 mark in my korean textbook!

I really really like my textbook. Most of my study has been using online resources, but I think having a physical textbook in front of me is really helpful. I think it really helps me to focus because I can’t get notifications on a paper, you know?

I’ve gotta figure out which language I want to take as my foreign language in college. I’ve narrowed down to Mandarin, Russian, or Korean. I think I’m leaning most toward Russian because I generally have the toughest time studying Russian on my own and it’s the language I notice the least progression in with my self-study. I think I could test out of at least beginner Korean and get that credit.

My orientation is in a week and a half and I’m freaking out!!

I’m really worried I’ll panic and burst into tears in the middle of scheduling my classes or something.

*very audible sigh*

I’ve gotta start getting ready for work soon. I’m working another 9 (technically 8) hour shift today. I wish I would get scheduled to open the store more often instead of closing the store pretty much every time I work. I always end up staying up late when I close.

Oh, gosh. I just noticed the time. I’m gonna end this post now. Bye!

Thanks for reading!

on break

I’m blogging at work right now so this post probably won’t be my best work but whatever.

You know how I told you about that girl that used to work at my store who came in and made a scene?

She came in again today…

uuuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUGH

Did she not get the hint?

But luckily she was only in the store for like 40 minutes this time and she didn’t take it upon herself to tell us how to run the store.

So on a less annoying note- well actually this annoys me too- I did my paperwork for student loans and such the other day. I’m preparing for my orientation which is in a little over a week.

Not super enthusiastic.

But what’s new?

Here’s a question:

Am I getting boring?

It feels like for the past months and a half my blog posts have been really low effort and pretty un-captivating.

I remember my September posts were so good! I want to write like that again!

I think that’s what I’m gonna really focus on for a while: making good content.

I seem to make these types of goals like 3 times a week though so who knows.

I’m gonna go now so i can do other stuff on my break.

Welcome to December

It’s December 1st!

December’s one of my favorite months and I’m very excited about winter.

I’m gonna pretty much verbally process this upcoming month for the duration of this entry.

today

I had a very specific plan set out for today when I woke up… Today did not go according to plan.

I had to go to work today even though I wasn’t scheduled because I had to call in the other day and I needed to make up my hours. I expected to work for 2 hours and then come home and really focus on studying, but another girl called in so I ended up working about 5 hours so nobody else would be screwed over.

I’m hoping to get in a good study session after I’m done writing, though.

#1 goal for December

I feel like in November, for the majority of the month I wasn’t juggling life well (as shown by my lack of blog posts). I’ve pretty much stagnated in language study, I’ve been sleeping really irregularly, and I’ve kinda taken my eye off of the prize.

For December, I’m hoping to be a bit more balanced in my lifestyle.

For about the past week I’ve gotten a little bit closer to my “normal”. I’ve been stretching more, I’ve studied more, I’ve slept earlier, and at least I’ve blogged some.

During December I’m gonna try to will myself into doing stuff even when I feel no motivation. Let’s see how that goes.

other December goals

  • get ready for college (orientation and stuff…)
  • save $200
  • post at least 25 blog entries
  • get back into taking pictures
  • post said pictures on instagram
  • drivers ed (eek)
  • write in my diary at least 4 times per week
  • fill out my habit tracker at the end of every day

hyping myself up

I just got sent my work schedule for this upcoming week.

It’s not too brutal. I do have more days closing the store than I prefer, but whatever. I’m hoping to not have anything derail me for this week/month, so wish me luck.

I don’t really have much else to say so…

Thank you for reading!
